How each answer is built and checked
Every page on this list follows the same four rules, so you can trust the number in its first sentence:
The answer comes first. The opening sentence gives the figure and the year it applies to. Everything below it explains who it applies to and what changes it.
Every figure has a named source. Federal figures come from CMS, Medicare.gov, HHS or Social Security; New Jersey rules from the Department of Banking and Insurance or the Department of Human Services; local plan counts from the CMS 2027 plan files for New Jersey counties. Each page lists the exact documents it used.
Worked examples are recalculated. Where a page adds up a year of costs, the arithmetic is computed from the same published figures, not typed in by hand, so a change in a figure flows through to the example.
Year labels are explicit. 2026 figures are labelled 2026; 2027 plan data is labelled 2027. Where a 2027 federal figure is not yet published, such as the Part B premium (announced around November 2026), the page says so instead of guessing.
