Haddonfield at a glance
Haddonfield is small and comfortable: 12,595 residents, a median household income near $200,400, and just 1.1% without health insurance, the lowest share of any town in this guide. 13.9% of residents, about 1,751 people, are 65 or older, a little under New Jersey’s 17.2%.
A useful question to ask of any plan here is less about the monthly premium and more about “what is the most this could cost me in a bad year?” That number is the in-network out-of-pocket maximum (MOOP), the yearly ceiling on what you pay for covered hospital and doctor care inside a plan’s network. This page sorts the Camden County list by it.
How Jackie helps here. Jackie works with Haddonfield clients by phone, on Zoom or in person. If you are weighing a Medigap policy against Medicare Advantage, she runs both through the same worst-case arithmetic so the comparison is fair.
13.9% of Haddonfield residents are 65 or older, against 17.2% for New Jersey, and 1.1% have no health insurance.

What is Haddonfield known for?
In October 1858 William Parker Foulke unearthed Hadrosaurus foulkii in a Haddonfield marl pit, the first nearly complete dinosaur skeleton found anywhere; it became the New Jersey state dinosaur in 1991. The borough’s historic district counts 488 houses, buildings and sites and has been on the National Register since 1982. Greenfield Hall, built in 1747, houses the Historical Society museum, and the Indian King Tavern hosted colonial meetings during the Revolutionary War.
Where do older Haddonfield residents meet?
The Mabel Kay Senior Center at 24 Walnut Street, beside the Acme (guests usually park in the Acme lot), is owned and run by the borough for residents 55 and over. Executive Director Sheri Siegel answers at 856-354-8789. Classes run Monday through Friday; Wednesdays bring Something to Chew On, a lunch and speaker program, and each October the center pairs with the high school on a Memoir Project. Updates go out by e-newsletter and on the center’s Facebook page.
Nearby, the Haddonfield Public Library at 60 North Haddon Avenue (856-429-1304) opens 10 to 8 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 to 5 on Wednesday and Friday, 10 to 2 on Saturday and noon to 4 on Sunday outside summer, with a tech center and voter registration on site.
What Camden County help does the borough point to?
The borough’s Resources for Seniors page lists three county programs: home-delivered meals, seven at a time once a week at no charge (856-374-6325); a citizen relief hotline, daily 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., for seniors who cannot get supplies, prescriptions or a ride to a medical appointment (856-858-3220); and a summer fan program for residents 60 and over with income of $25,000 or less (856-858-3220).

When a low MOOP pays off
On the Camden County list the in-network ceiling runs from $4,150 to $9,850, a spread of $5,700. In a quiet year with checkups and a few prescriptions you may never get near either number, and a plan with the higher ceiling and richer extras can cost you less.
In a year with a knee replacement, a cardiac stay or a run of infusions, the ceiling is what you pay, give or take copays outside it. Add the 2026 Part B premium of $202.9 a month, which every plan still requires, and any plan premium, and you have your true worst case. Drug costs sit under the separate Part D cap.
A Medigap policy approaches the same risk differently: a higher monthly premium, no network, and with Plan G only the Part B deductible ($283 in 2026) left for most covered care. Put both worst cases side by side before you decide.
Plans with the lowest in-network out-of-pocket limits
These are the ten Camden County plans with the lowest in-network out-of-pocket limits for 2027, from Humana, UnitedHealthcare and Jefferson Health Plans. 4 of the ten carry no Part D drug coverage, so they mainly suit people with VA, TRICARE or other creditable drug benefits.
Read the premium column alongside the ceiling: some of the lowest limits come with a monthly premium, and an HMO-POS ceiling only protects you inside its network. A Haddonfield resident who sees Philadelphia specialists should check those names before trusting any ceiling.
10 plans on the Camden County list fit this group, with monthly Part C + D premiums from $0 to $115.

Kings Highway, Crows Woods and Hopkins Pond
The borough’s landmarks list reads like a walking tour, and much of it sits on or near Kings Highway. A few stops worth knowing, with the dates the borough gives:
- Borough Hall, 242 Kings Highway East, built in 1928, holds the municipal offices, the police department and an auditorium where the commissioners meet.
- Haddon Fire Company No. 1, founded March 8, 1764, works from 115 North Haddon Avenue. The public library traces its founding to March 5, 1803.
- Greenfield Hall, 343 Kings Highway West, was constructed in 1747, rebuilt in 1841 by John Gill IV and added to the National Register in 1974. The Indian King Tavern stands at 233 Kings Highway East.
- The Lenni Lenape Monument at Kings Highway and Chews Landing honors the Lenape people. Haddie, the dinosaur sculpture on Lantern Lane by local artist John Giannotti, dates from 2003, and a sign and trail mark the discovery site at the end of Maple Avenue.
- The War Memorial at 401 Kings Highway East carries 46 names of residents who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
- Crows Woods, 901 East Atlantic Avenue, has trails, nature areas and garden plots residents can rent. Hopkins and Driscoll Ponds, off Hopkins Lane, are two adjacent ponds with walking trails and bridges, and Wheeler Park on Upland Way is a small strip favored by dog walkers.
What is common in Haddonfield
CDC PLACES estimates put Haddonfield adults well under the New Jersey county average on diabetes (7.3% against 10.9%), high blood pressure (27.9%) and obesity (23.0%).
Two measures run higher: a history of cancer at 9.5% (state 7.5%) and depression at 17.4% (state 15.1%). Cancer treatment is exactly the kind of care that pushes a household toward its out-of-pocket ceiling, which is why the ceiling leads this page.

Hospitals near Haddonfield
Haddonfield has no hospital of its own in the CMS file. The nearest records are in Camden and Stratford: Cooper Norcross University Hospital (2 of 5), Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital (2 of 5) and Jefferson Stratford Hospital (2 of 5). All three carry the same CMS overall rating, 2 of 5.
An overall rating blends safety, readmissions and patient survey results; it does not describe a single department. If you have a specific surgeon or cancer program in mind, check that the plan covers that campus by name.
3 Medicare-certified hospitals are listed; whether each is in a plan’s network is a separate question.

How the figures are derived
Headline counts and averages leave out Special Needs Plans. "$0 Part C premium" and "$0 combined monthly premium for Parts C and D" are counted separately; out-of-pocket limits are in-network. The 2026 to 2027 comparison counts plans with drug coverage, Special Needs Plans included. Where the crosswalk ends a plan but the same company files a similar plan under a new ID, we say so. We never estimate per-plan enrollment.
