Where does the name Voorhees come from?
Voorhees became its own township on March 3, 1899, when it split from Waterford Township, and it is named for Governor Foster McGowan Voorhees. The old Lenape path called the Long-A-Coming Road is today’s Route 561. The township covers 11.6 square miles.
What does Voorhees Township offer older residents?
The Senior Citizen Program works from 2400 Voorhees Town Center, weekdays 8:30 to 4:30 (856-429-4703). The township says plainly that it is a program, not a senior center. It runs a senior bus, at no charge, to a set list of in-town stops such as grocery stores, the bank and the senior club; it does not make personal or medical trips, and rides are booked in advance.
The Voorhees Senior Club is open to residents 50 and over and meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at the Lions Lake facility, 101 Dutchtown Road, with lunch and bingo. For medical rides, the county’s SEN-HAN Transit (856-456-3344) serves Camden County residents 60 and over.
Why does the hospital in Voorhees matter for plan choice?
Virtua lists Virtua Voorhees Hospital at 100 Bowman Drive, recorded in the CMS file under its certification name, West Jersey Hospital. If it is the hospital you would use, it is the first thing to check in any plan network, PPO or HMO alike. Jackie checks it, and your specialists, before you choose.

Voorhees Medicare questions
How many Medicare Advantage plans are available in Voorhees for 2027?
Voorhees uses the Camden County plan list. It has 41 Medicare Advantage plans for 2027 (Special Needs Plans not included) from 10 organizations. Of those, 33 have a $0 Part C premium, and 24 have a $0 combined monthly premium for Parts C and D (17 of those include drug coverage; 7 have no drug coverage, so no Part D premium). You still pay the Part B premium, which is $202.90 a month in 2026; the 2027 amount is announced around November 2026. Source: CMS 2027 Landscape file.
Should someone in Voorhees choose a PPO or an HMO for 2027?
It depends on how you use care. An HMO usually keeps you in network and often costs less; a PPO lets you see out-of-network providers at a higher cost. The PPO table on this page lists every Camden County PPO for 2027 with its premium and out-of-pocket limit, so you can weigh that flexibility against the cost.
Is Virtua Voorhees Hospital the West Jersey Hospital in the CMS file?
Yes. Virtua lists Virtua Voorhees Hospital at 100 Bowman Drive, and the CMS file records that address under the certification name West Jersey Hospital. Whether it is in a given plan network is a separate check Jackie makes with you before you enroll.

Braven Health has no Medicare Advantage plan with drug coverage in Camden County for 2027; Devoted Health is new to the Camden County list. Your plan’s Annual Notice of Change lists what changes for you on January 1.

For people with Medicare and a limited income, New Jersey's Medicare Savings Programs, PAAD, Senior Gold and NJ FamilyCare can help with costs; the guides linked on this page explain each one.

How the figures are derived
- Headline plan counts and averages exclude Special Needs Plans, which have their own eligibility rules and are reported separately.
- "$0 Part C premium" counts plans whose Part C premium is $0. "$0 combined monthly premium for Parts C and D" counts plans whose consolidated Part C + D premium is $0 (for a plan without drug coverage, its Part C premium); our guides and blog use this second count. Out-of-pocket limits are in-network amounts. The average Part D deductible covers plans with drug coverage only.
- The 2026 to 2027 comparison counts Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage, Special Needs Plans included, and its "$0" row uses the combined Part C + D premium, so it differs from the headline count.
- When the CMS crosswalk ends a plan with no successor but the same company files a plan with the same or a similar name under a new plan ID, we say so; members are not moved into the new ID automatically.
- We do not publish per-plan enrollment: the source does not carry it, and we never estimate plan figures.
